Abby and I are so proud of Elana and thought we could use this blog to share information about her Maccabiah experience. I will post news as we get it about the US Team, the opening ceremonies, television coverage, and the gymnatics events specifically. We can then use this site to provide results, pictures and hopefully even video from Isreal in real time when we get there. Enjoy!

Trials


This Maccabiah journey started with a trip to Norman, Oklahoma during the weekend of December 6 & 7, 2008. Tryouts for the team were held at the Bart Connor Gymnastics Academy and Bart was there himself to oversee the festivities. This was the first time Elana used the international scoring system employed at the Olympics, so we had no idea how well she was doing during the meet. Everything ended well, however, as she finished 1st on the bars and 2nd overall to earn her spot on Team USA!


Above is a picture of Elana and Bart Connor taken after the meet (in sweatsuit purchased for her by her fabulous Aunt Lynn and Uncle Gregg!). Bart approached her to congratulate her.
